What is the Orthodox Church?
“The Orthodox Christian Church is evangelical, but not Protestant.
It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman.
It is not denominational, it is pre-denominational.
It has believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for the
Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost nearly 2,000 years ago.”
– Our Life in Christ
Our services are prayerful, calm, and centered on worshipping God. You’ll hear chanting, see incense, and watch ancient traditions in action. Even if it’s unfamiliar, just follow along and take it in. Many visitors say the beauty and quietness help them feel closer to Christ right away.
Your first visit doesn’t have to be stressful. You can sit anywhere, ask questions, and observe without pressure. People will greet you kindly, and volunteers can help guide you. Whether you stay for the whole service or part of it, we want you to feel welcome and comfortable.
You don’t need to be Orthodox to visit. Many people come just to learn or explore. You can watch the service, ask questions afterward, and move at your own pace. We’re happy to help anyone understand the traditions and feel comfortable while visiting our parish.
